What is a Personal Trainer? A personal trainer is a person who helps people exercise. The scope of practice for a personal trainer is to enhance the components of fitness for the general, healthy population. The 5 classic components of fitness are muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility, although there are other subsets like power, skill, and speed. The general population is defined as an age range of 18 to about 50 (45 and younger for males, 55 and younger for females). The definition of healthy in this context means an absence of a disease that would affect one's ability to exercise. How much does personal training cost? dluxe health & fitness has very competitive pricing with one on one personal training sessions starting at $36.08. Prices for dluxe personal training sessions are discounted on a sliding scale – the more time you buy the cheaper it is. If you are not sure if personal training is for you then start off with the $99 'try us' package which includes a comprehensive 60 minute health & fitness assessment and three 30 minute personal training sessions valued at over $250.

What is PTtime? Instead of purchasing personal training session packs dluxe health & fitness have created PTtime, which allows you to purchase time (training minutes).
With PTtime your personal training program is as flexible as you need; catering to both your lifestyle and your goals.
For example, you could train 2 x 45 minute personal training sessions a week or a 1 x 45 and 1 x 30 minute personal training session a week. With PTtime it is up to you.

How long does my PTtime last? PTtime is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Should you not use all your purchased time by the end of the one year period, it will be forfeited.

Do I have to suspend my personal training? You do not have to suspend your personal training for holidays or when you are sick at dluxe health & fitness. You simply buy your personal training time pack and schedule your personal training sessions with your personal trainer. If you can't make a personal training session you simply cancel within the fair cancellation period. Much easier than your gym membership.

Why do I have to undertake an assessment before I can start personal training? Before we can train or treat you, it is an industry requirement that you undergo at a minimum a basic health and fitness assessment. This ensures you are not at risk during your personal training or therapy session. Should a health issue be discovered during the assessment then we may require a clearance from your doctor or specialist before you can commence personal training or therapy.

What is a Lifestyle review? On purchase of your first PTtime pack or the 'Try Us' package we give you a complimentary Lifestyle Review. The dluxe health & fitness Lifestyle Review is our comprehensive health & fitness assessment involving fitness testing, basic nutrition consultation, weight, height, skinfold measures and more to help us understand where you are currently, where you want to go and determine the best way to get you there. We provide you with an information sheet on what is involved and what to expect before your appointment.

Why do we recommend a Lifestyle Review every 3 months? dluxe health & fitness recommends a Lifestyle Review every 3 months to check your progress and report that to you. It also gives both you and your personal trainer the opportunity to make sure you are still on track to achieve your goals, review your goals, review your personal training program and discuss any other training and lifestyle aspects.

What is a Homework program? On purchase of your first PTtime pack dluxe health & fitness gives you a complimentary Homework training program, designed specifically for you to compliment your personal training sessions. Your Homework program is a take home exercise program for you to complete outside of dluxe health & fitness studio without your personal trainer. Your personal trainer will ensure that the exercise program is safe and you are comfortable with the exercises.

What is Nutrition? Your personal trainer will provide you with basic nutrition guidance during your Lifestyle Review and during your personal training sessions as required. Simply ask your questions and if your personal trainer does not have the answer they will research and get back to you or if appropriate refer you to the relevant health professional.

What else do i get with personal training at dluxe health & fitness? It’s the little things that make the dluxe experience. We send you an appointment reminder approximately 24 hours before your personal training or therapy session; we know your name and will always be waiting for you to arrive with a big smile; we provide training towel, water bottle, locker and cold spring water while you train; fruit is often on offer for your taking; have a calming herbal tea on us; chill on the couch and if you have forgotten something let us know as we might be able to help. It is all part of the dluxe way.

How do I book my session? We operate strictly by appointment and subject to availability. Personal training sessions can either be 30, 45 or 60 minutes while our other health and fitness services range from 30 to 90 minutes. To ensure you get the time that best suits you, please schedule your session as soon as possible.

What is dluxe health & fitness cancellation policy? As most Personal Trainers, Therapists or Treating Professionals are employed on a casual basis with their income derived from the time of each session (ie. they only get paid for the time they train or treat you), it is therefore imperative that we have a solid cancellation policy in order to protect the financial health of our team.
dluxe health & fitness has developed a strictly enforced cancellation policy where if you do not cancel within our terms your session time will be forfeited and your personal trainer, therapist or treating professional will be paid. The cancellation time period has been deemed fair by both our team and existing clients as it allows the personal trainer, therapist or treating professional the opportunity to schedule in another client at that time. dluxe health & fitness cancellations must be made as follows:

What do I wear? Always wear appropriate attire for your personal training. Comfortable, clean and functional clothing is best. For footwear we recommend you purchase a pair of quality sports shoes suitable to your training needs.
